OK, so we might be a few months late in reviewing a new release, but that is the main point of this website, we want to introduce you to new music that may have recently passed you by (and passed us by).

From a break to our normal album review, we are recommending an EP and a Single. Alice Merton’s debut release EP ‘No Roots’ came out in 2016, but the lead track gained radio play and European commercial success in 2017 & 2018. The track ‘No Roots’ plays on her life-roaming background, growing up in Germany, UK and Canada. Her music plays on a mix of folk, rock, pop and hints of electro. Comparisons range from Florence & The Machine and PJ Harvey.

This is a musician with confidence and attitude, ‘Hit The Ground Running’ prove this, Alice’s vocals tell us…’I’ll keep my head up, even if I am fed up’, I’ll be ready when the moment comes’.

And follow up 2018 single ‘Lash Out’, back up this attitude, a solid folk-pop-rock track, ‘hard to hold this fire inside me’.
