Sometimes you hear an album, you hesitate, then you listen again and hear its context, its tone, its depths…this is one of those albums. George Fitzgerald has created an electronic soundscape, offering deep and sweeping dance with undertones of ‘balearic beats’. Opener ‘Two Moons Under’ tips its hat to The Chemical Brothers’ ‘Star Guitar’.
On ‘Burns’ Fitzgerald utilises vocal sampling to provide the perfect hook for the 80’s electronic sound, at the same time enabling a contemporary beat. Vocal tracks including ‘Roll Back’ with Lil Silva and ‘Half-Light (Night Version) with Tracey Thorn enhance the sweeping electronic soundscape, adding another relaxed dimension to the album. ‘Outgrown’ & ‘Nobody But You (feat. Hudson Scott) cement the club sound.
Enjoy the ride.
