‘GENE’ by LA Priest is an astonishing album. I previously knew very little about LA Priest, now I know. ‘Gene’ is the 2nd album, following on from 2015 release ‘Inji’.

Sam Eastgate recording under the moniker of LA Priest. The album title ‘GENE’ is named after the analogue drum machine that Sam built, and was recorded between Califonia, the South Coast of England and his home country of Wales.

‘GENE’ is a fascinating and mind blowing creative body of music. LA Priest creates his own music dimensions. Mixing electronic beats with poetic electric guitar on track ‘Open My Eyes’, it echoes sounds of introspective folk. ‘What Moves’ elegantly warbles across a funky lo-tech sound and gracefully segues into delicately arranged guitar riff ‘Peace Lily’.
